This position is for a North Carolina Certified Law Enforcement Officer with at least 4 years of law enforcement experience. Applicant MUST meet the requirements and live within 45-55 minutes from Scotland Neck.
Prepares and conducts patrol shift briefings including inspection of officers’ appearance, equipment and shift assignment.
Supervises and evaluates the performance of subordinates including disciplinary actions, continued training and counseling.
Performs the full range of Police Officer duties.
Reviews reports in a timely manner while assuring accuracy completeness and grammatical correctness.
Monitors scheduling to assure efficient and effective use of personnel and budget resources.
Investigates complaints concerning the conduct or performance of subordinates.
Performs liaison functions between the Scotland Police Department and outside agencies or other departments.
Assures continuous accurate information flow between the administration and the officers supervised.
Maintains proficiency in the use of police related equipment. Appears in court, and is available to testify in matters which he/she has knowledge whether it be criminal or civil.
Assists in the screening and assessing of applicants.
Assist in hiring decisions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
